Condition
Paper very slightly discoloured in places. Slight losses around all the edges, verso, from previous mounting. slight unevenness in paper towards bottom right corner. Otherwise good and fresh. Sold in a decorative modern gilded frame.

The 1994 sale catalogue proposed that this apparently imaginary view was inspired by the architecture of the Binnenhof, The Hague, but it has also been suggested that the inspiration may actually have come from the buildings of Arnhem.
