Condition
Both canvases have recent, stable and sympathetic relinings.
The paint surface of both works is very well preserved indeed. On the painting with the cock there are two restored damages in the upper background, and scattered small retouchings throughout, all of them minor. On the other (with the bird) there is a horizontal seam or fold about 5 cm from the upper margin, but no major damages and only scattered minor retouchings throughout.
