Catalogue Note

Rare: there is apparently no copy of this first edition in British libraries. It contains four of Chopin's most celebrated mazurkas. Grabowski & Rink give the date of issue as January 1836; however, Schlesinger's edition was advertised in Paris on 29 November 1835 and again on 13 December, to appear in their "Album des Pianistes", and apparently published  there on 15 December.
