Catalogue Note
Zhitomirsky (1907-1993) developed a particular style of photomontage. He created many anti-Nazi photomontage images in the 1940s which were designed to be distributed among German soldiers to demoralize them, and after the war he turned to anti-American, anti-Capitalist and anti-nuclear themes. The following five lots contain his photomontages and photocollages.
