Pierre du Val of Paris, early inscriptions on title-page; Charles Spencer, 3rd earl of Sunderland (1674-1722), with his shelfmark "A3.13" on inside front cover (and a later pencil shelfmark beneath it, "49.d.13"), and with armorial library label of Althorp House; Sunderland Library sale, Puttick & Simpson, London, 10 November 1882, lot 9415, bought by Ellis & White; "Henry H. Gibbs, St Dunstan's 1882, Sunderland Library", inscription on flyleaf, and Aldenham House, Herts, armorial bookplate, i.e. Henry Hucks Gibbs, first baron Aldenham (1819-1907), owner of a substantial library. St Dunstan's was his villa in Regent's Park.
