The case of rosewood with double brass stringing, the six and a half octave keyboard, CC to f⁴, with ivory naturals and ebony accidentals, two lyre-mounted pedals controlling the damper lift and una corda, part metal frame with three horizontal braces in the treble, the two-piece soundboard stained with irregular dark and lighter brown bands, two part bridge, rosewood music desk, raised on three spirally-fluted baluster legs

Pleyel built two other grand pianos with nearly adjacent serial numbers which were purchased by famous owners. N^o 5693 was owned by Chopin's close friend Countess Delfina Potocka and N^o 5698 by the pianist Pierre-Joseph-Guillaume Zimmermann.
