- charcoal and gouache
- 54 by 37cm.; 21¼ by 14½in.
Provenance
Bernard Jacobson Gallery, London, where acquired by the present owner in 1991
Condition
Float-mounted, the work appears adhered at the corners and extreme edge, but not fully laid down, with deckling along the right and left hand edges. The upper left hand corner of the work is inherently uneven with one or two minor tiny tears to the extreme edge. Four pin holes are also apparent, two to each of the right and left hand edge.
There is a large crease to the bottom right hand corner, and a slight scuff to the bottom left hand corner and what appears to be a minor crease to the centre of the right edge., with some further studio detritus visible in isolated areas of the sheet. There is a tiny spot of paint loss to the red pigment just to the right of the woman's waist.
Housed behind glass in a thin silvered-wooden frame, float-mounted against a cream mount. Unexamined out of frame.
