Condition

Original canvas. The work appears in very good condition, with no apparent problems. Ultraviolet light reveals some very minor flecks of fluorescence and retouching in line with which was probably a previous framing of the work. These appear to the extreme left hand edge, measuring approximately 3 centimetres in length; to the extreme top left and right hand corners; a small area approximately 1 centimetre to the extreme top centre; and a very minor line of approximately 1 centimetre immediately above the signature and another to teh right of the signature in the bottom right quadrant. These are minor restorations and have been well executed. Housed in a thick gilt frame, the work is float-mounted in a tight box with the extreme edges of the canvas visible. Unexamined out of frame.
