Catalogue Note
Bikash Bhattacharjee's paintings straddle the genres of realism, naturalism and surrealism. A gifted colorist, Bhattacharjee achieves mastery in capturing the quality of light, a skill that heightens the tonal and textural effects of his works. Known for his brooding canvases of small children and urban decay, the current pen and ink drawing expresses a cheeky, playful energy rarely seen in Bhattacharjee's work.
