Illustration is quite accurate, although the background looks actually more purple. As expected, some wear and minor chips to the painting in places. The painting has been probably slightly retouched, especially on the lower areas. As stated in the catalogue, the giltbronze masks are replacements (traces of other previous handles). The upper giltbronze rims slightly rubbed and tarnished.
