Catalogue Note
Attributed to René Boivin, the reverse of this brooch bears maker's marks for Profillet, one of the maker's contracted by Boivin between 1910-1960. A 'chouquette' brooch of very similar design circa 1947 is illustrated in René Boivin: Jeweller, by Françoise Cailles, page 249. A listing of the makers enlisted by Boivin, such as Profillet, may be viewed in the same publication, pages 394-395.
