Description

- gold, sapphire, emerald, diamond
The multi-strand tassels composed of sapphire beads graduating in size, gathered at the centers by florets, accented throughout by ten oval cabochon emeralds and numerous round diamonds weighing approximately 3.50 carats, signed Giovane, Italy, with Italian registry marks; tassels detachable, fitted with retractable posts.
Condition
In good condition overall. The sapphires are a deep, very slightly violetish blue, moderately to heavily included and semi-transparent to semi-opaque. Some of the beads exhibit surface wear commensurate with use, but such wear is only visible under magnification. The cabochon emeralds are a rich, slightly bluish green, lightly to moderately included and translucent. Two of the emeralds exhibit surface reaching fissures that run nearly the length of the stone, but both stones are stable in their mountings. The diamonds are approximately F-G color, VVS-VS clarity with some SI examples. Also stamped "94," possibly for the year of manufacture. The tassels remove just under second cabochon emerald from the tops by unlatching the safety closure and pulling out the tab.
