Condition
Set with 7 semi-opaque carved rubies of medium deep slightly brownish red color, though slightly more purplish-red than shown in the printed catalogue. With numerous surface reaching inclusions, chips and cavities, typical of this type of material. One ruby has evidence of filler to a previous bead hole, and is also loose in its mounting, but stable. Accented by 68 diamonds approximately H-K color and VS-I clarity. Box links at one end of the bracelet possibly later-added to extend the length. Signed Cartier Paris on one side of the rim of the link nearest the female end of the clasp, Made in France on opposite rim of same link. Numbered on the rim of the ruby link closest to the male end. Maker's mark ?D bisected by a flower, possibly for Droguet. See Cartier: 1900-1939, by Judy Rudoe, p. 46.
