Description

The rectangular onyx lid decorated with a dragon motif set with variously cut diamonds, carved coral, black enamel, the dragon atop a cabochon emerald, framed by carved coral highlighted with bands of millegrain-set rose diamonds, the sides of jade, the thumb piece applied with onyx and a baguette diamond, opening to reveal a powder compartment, signed Cartier, Paris, Londres, New York and numbered, carrying case.

Onyx in good condition with few minor scratches. Jade in good condition. Coral in good condition with characteristic inclusions, some surface reaching. Emerald with typical crystal inclusions visible under magnification, some surface reaching. Minor loss to black enamel only visible under magnification. Diamonds bright and lively. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with age and use. In good condition. Carrying case stamped Doelker & Muhlfeid.
