3 tirages argentiques originaux (179 x 129 mm) portant le cachet du photographe (V. Huszar voorburg Holland). Deux sont numérotés en chiffre romain ("I" et "II"), la photographie numérotée "I" porte au verso, des notes autographes de l'artiste : "mechanic dancong fiogure, comp 1920". La troisième photographie portait le numéro "IV" qui a été effacé.

"Mechanic Dancing Figure. Comp. 1920, V. Huszar. Voorburg Holland.
This mechanic dancing figure is shown on a white sheet as a shadow (silhouet).
The open spaces on the figure are transparent, green and red.
The movements are mad at the back side, under a board, by means of ten keys, which are kept together by strings.
Each movement is made in a right angle and nothing is accidental.
The head can be turned to the right and to the left side.
The idea is to give at every position a plastic composition and to include the open spaces on the background in this composition."
Vilmos Huszár fut l'un des fondateurs, en 1917, du mouvement De Stijl avec Mondrian et van Doesburg entre autres. Développant des théories esthétiques nouvelles sur le neoplasticisme, ce mouvement influença fondamentalement le Bauhaus et les autres mouvements d'avant-garde de l'époque. Il est également un fervent défenseur de la théorie des couleurs de Ostwald qui cherche à lier couleurs et sensations.
En 1923, il rejoint les Dadaïstes hollandais et présente régulièrement sa "Mechanic dancing figure" : animée mécaniquement, elle tente de transmettre les recherches de l'artiste autour de la polychromie et de l'abstraction géométrique.
