This canvas is un-lined and still stretched on its original stretcher. The paint layer appears never to have been cleaned or restored. The canvas has relaxed quite noticeably, across the top edge particularly. There are a few scuffs in the upper right corner, in the upper center near the edge and in a few spots on the lower edge. There also seems to be a very thin scratch in the dark passage in the lower center. Nonetheless, there appear to be no retouches. The painting is clearly in very good state.
