Sapphire and diamond brooch, 'Fleur', circa 1945

Of stylised floral and foliate design, set with a step-cut and cabochon sapphires and circular-cut diamonds.

Pin stamped with French import marks for gold. Sapphires overall well matched in colour, step-cut sapphire measuring approximately 13.7 x 10.5 x 10.7 mm, estimated to weigh approximately 17.50 carats, as gauged in mounting, step-cut sapphire transparent, cabochons translucent, with few typical inclusions, some are surface reaching, scratches and abrasions are visible to the naked eye, few nicks to the sides of the cabochons. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 3.00 carats, G-H colour, VS-SI (few I) clarity, as gauged and graded in mounting. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition.
