Description

  • emerald, diamond, platinum
Centring on a cushion-shaped emerald weighing 16.83 carats, flanked by tapered baguette diamonds together weighing approximately 1.40 carats, mounted in platinum.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to Gübelin and AGL reports, the emerald is natural, of Colombian origin, with no indications of clarity enhancement. AGL JewelFolio states that this emerald "exhibits the richly saturated and homogeneous, slightly bluish-green color representative of fine-quality emeralds of the Muzo mining area......this gem possesses a very high clarity, without any visible texture. Such clarity in an emerald of 16 cts is very rare.......(this emerald also) provides a very high degree of brilliancy and light return......A Colombian emerald possessing such a combination of attributes as superior color, uncommon clarity and well-proportioned cut, identifies this emerald as a gem of high rarity.". Please refer to the reports and JewelFolio for details. In our opinion, the emerald is of saturated green colour, eye clean. Upon 10x loupe, there are minor inclusions close to a prong, rare clarity in natural emerald. Two diamonds are about E to F colours, VS clarity. Condition: Platinum ring mount, in mint condition.
