The present sculpture is one of seven portraits of the artist's second wife, Kathleen Garman. Their daughter Kitty married Lucien Freud.

Condition

On a wooden base 17 1/2 by 22 1/2 in. The bronze has a green patina. There is surface dirt and dust and a minor number of white accretions scattered across the surface. There are a few small losses to the patina: one small area in the left neck, one small area in the right neck, one along the chin and one along the left jawline. In otherwise generally good condition.
