Condition
Painted on paper laid down on canvas. UV examination reveals some scattered retouching in places, the most prominent of which is an 8cm long vertical line to the centre of the lower edge, relating to a repaired tear. There is another small repaired tear to the centre of the sky and some minor paint shrinkage in places, mainly to the white pigments. There is some scattered surface dirt in places and this work would benefit from a clean. Otherwise, this work is in overall fairly good condition.
Colours: fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though overall slightly more luminous in the original.
