  • AN ULTRA-THIN PLATINUM OPEN-FACED WATCHCIRCA 1920
  • diameter 47 mm
• manual winding lever movement, 19 jewels • two-tone guilloché silvered dial, Roman numerals to the matte chapter ring, outer Arabic numerals for minutes • ultra-thin case, cabochon sapphire-set crown, snap back • dial signed Cartier, movement signed European Watch & Clock Co., Inc., case hand-stamped with Cartier reference numbers

Condition

The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The dial shows scuffs and marks throughout, mostly quite light but more noticeable toward the outermost edge of the dial. The case shows surface scuffs to the outside of the case back and bezel and a noticeable abrasion to the edge of the case at 10:30. The hand stamped Cartier reference numbers are very legible throughout and the piece has likely never been polished. The pendant is stamped 1288, the outer movement is market 15555 and 111716 and the inside of the case back is marked 15555. The Tiffany & Co. pocketknife is monogrammed SR.
