Catalogue Note
Examples of triple calendar desk timepieces with ivory and enamelled cases are illustrated in Le Temps de Cartier, Barracca, J., Negretti, G. and Nencini, F., pp. 37 and 61.
The present example is particularly rare and highly decorative, featuring an agate case, striated enameled dial, and a fully enameled moon-phase plate. The detailed features of the moon's 'face' amid the starry sky are one of the many charming elements of this piece.
