Catalogue Note

The present example was the property of the legendary late American comedian Alan King. Some highlights of his career included being chosen as the Master of Ceremonies at John F. Kennedy's inauguration in 1961 and the host of the Academy Awards in 1972. Furthermore, he was head Abbott at the Friars Club after Frank Sinatra and Ed Sullivan, and was named Entertainer of the Year award by the Friars Club in 1971. It is thought that King's work inspired many of today's most important comedians, such as Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David.

With Rolex service paperwork from 1997 made out to Mr. King.
