Catalogue Note

With an A. Lange & Söhne Guarantee booklet and Instruction Manual in a leather folder and a presentation box with an outer card box.

Split-second chronographs, also referred to by the French term ‘Rettraprant’ (to catch up) have traditionally consisted of a 30 or 45 minute counter with two 60-seconds register hands. The additional seconds hand can be started and stopped independent of the primary register hand. When A. Lange & Sohne creators reviewed this complication an obvious flaw was found, it was only possible to time two events simultaneous on one watch if they fell within 60 seconds of each other. To overcome this the designers created the double-spit chronograph with a movement able to record two events simultaneous for up to 30 minutes by also using a split minute-counter in addition to the split-seconds register.

This watch was produced in a very limited series of 5 examples especially for the Asian market in 2004 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sincere Watch Limited, Singapore.
