Description

  • 18 karat gold, diamond, colored diamond, onyx, leather, pendant
The modified pear-shaped pendant composed of carved onyx, set with a pear-shaped table-cut diamond of black hue weighing 20.96 carats, accented by small round near colorless diamonds weighing approximately .40 carat, and round diamonds of black and gray hue weighing approximately 2.20 carats, completed by a black leather cord, length adjustable, pendant with maker's mark for Samuel Getz.

Condition

The pendant is in very good condition with no apparent wear. The onyx, maintaining a high polish, is flat on the top and convex on the bottom. The table-cut diamond bears black veining and reflective inclusions that are decorative in effect; some of these inclusions are surface-reaching, but this does not affect the stability of the stone. The approximately near colorless to light gray round diamonds are approximately VS to I clarity. The leather cord is fraying in places, creating an intentionally rustic look. The cord is easily removed, allowing the pendant to be suspended from a variety of materials.

Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
