Condition

Spring: Several minor chips to the edges of flowers and leaves in her hands. Winter: There are two chipped sections of the rim of the brazier in his hand, which is visible from the online catalogue illustration; the tip of his right index finger has a very small chip. Autumn: His right arm is broken off from his shoulder down; the piece is now retained. Summer: The tip of her sickle is broken off; there are several minor chips to the edges of her sheaf of corn.

Three similar figures of Summer, Winter and Autumn were sold at Christie's, South Kensington, April 20, 1995, lot 259. A similar set of four figures were also sold at Sotheby's, New York, October 21, 1980, lot 219.
