Les  poissons fossiles de Monte Bolca sont réputés depuis le 18 eme siècle comme de superbes et remarquables pièces  constitutives des célèbres cabinets de curiosités.

Plus près de nous, Napoleon Ier, empereur des français confisquera de nombreuses collections aristocratiques italiennes de ces poissons pour les ramener en France tant ces fossiles étaient prisés et considérés comme des œuvres d'art naturelles.



Très belle qualité  notable  typique du gisement fossilifère.

Condition

Native matrix. Fish naturally fossilized in that rock, it has not been re-incrusted. The eye is fossilized and perfectly visible. Tactile Antennas are visible and were fossilized naturally (not painted). Two vertebras are missing just before the tale and was fossilized naturally in quartz. Exceptional piece and very rare.
