La coquille fossilisée de cette superbe ammonite  envoie mille et un feux, ce qui est une caractéristique de cette espèce. Nous pouvons observer un esthétique jeu de couleur où interviennent de beaux verts et rouges. La couche externe est composée d'ammolite, une matière reconnue internationalement comme une gemme précieuse. On pense  que  Sphenodiscus était  un nageur redoutable.  C'est  l'une des dernières ammonites à avoir connu une évolution avant l'extinction de masse de ces animaux à la fin de la période. La présentation rehausse encore l'éclat et l'intérêt de la pièce.

Condition

Perfect condition. coloured on both sides. Cracks visible on images are natural and won't budge with the times. Colours on images are natural and obtained with artificial lights (with natural light the ammonite has to be oriented on sevral positions to see all colours. The piece is sold with its showcase, its rotating base and its artificial lights.
