- gilt-bronze mounted mirror: 183cm. high, 98cm. wide; 6ft., 3ft. 2½in., giltwood mirror frame: 182cm. high. 97cm. wide; 5ft. 11¾in., 3ft. 2¼in.
with a divided mirror plate, the moulded border applied with a band of stylised star shaped motifs, together with a French carved giltwood mirror frame, late 18th/early 19th century, with a rectangular frame carved with an outer border of laurel leaves and beading with a later plate; frame distressed, plate broken
Condition
In overall good condition. Minor scuffs and chips and old very minor restorations generally.
Giltwood mirror frame:
There are construction cracks at the joints which can easily be filled or left. The gilding is slightly dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. There are some losses to the gilding which can easily be touched up.
