Description
- gilt-bronze, porcelain
- Larger 19cm. high; 7½in., smaller approx 16cm. high; 6¼in.
each bowl of ovoid form with a domed cover and handle issuing from a flowerhead motif, the rims with scrolling foliate bands on a circular ribbed foot; differences in casting, one larger bowl with a different finial; one cover on a smaller bowl restored
Condition
The gilt-bronze is slightly dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. One of the smaller bowl covers might possibly have been broken into two pieces and restuck with a crack visible from both the interior and the exterior, associated with shorter subcracks and minor areas of loss. The other small bowl has at least eight glaze chips on the cover, there is a very minor section of the gilt band on the rim missing. Aside from minor firing imperfections such as burst glaze bubbles, iron-spots etc., the bowls are in reasonable condition.
