with a later demi-lune veined grey and white marble top, the underside with letters in red ink LR above a panelled frieze centred by a wicker basket of fruit amongst rinceaux within beading interposed by a patera on foliate carved fluting tapering legs terminating in toupie feet; some minor losses to carving
Condition
In otherwise good conserved condition. Minor marks and chips to the marble top. Very attractive detail to carving with some miniscule chips which can easily be touched up and some very minor breaks to the rinceaux section. There is a very small piece of scrolling foliage missing on both the right and left panel of the frieze which can easily be recarved. Some very minor losses to gilding especially along the moulded edge along the top which can easily be touched up. Evidence of old very minor worm which appears to be no longer active but which has resulted in a minor loss of the edge of the wooden section beneath the marble top but this is hidden beneath the marble. The blue painting has probably been refreshed.
