Description

  • paint, beechwood, cane
with an arched padded back and padded downscrolled arms above a loose cushion seat on cabriole legs; feet retipped, together with a green painted low chair, Louis XV, circa 1740, with cartouche shaped caned back above a caned seat and loose cushion on cabriole legs, the frame carved with acanthus leaves and rocaille, the underside seat-rail incised SG; painting distressed  and a grey painted chair attributed to Georges Jacob, Louis XVI, circa 1780, with an arched pierced back with a fluted splat above a bowed padded seat on fluted tapering legs terminating in toupie feet


Condition

Falconet bergère: In overall good condition. Joints sound sturdy. Attractive detail to carving. Old repair tro rear right leg when facing. A grey painted chair attributed to Georges Jacob: In overall good condition. Joints sound and sturdy. There are some hairline cracks in the splat but these do not detract from the piece. The painting is worn in places. Formerly with castors. Chair with caned back In otherwise good condition. Joints sound and sturdy. Painting worn in places as visible from photo. The colour of the back is lighter than that on the front. There is an old repair to the left side-rail which is hardly noticeable.
