Description
- metal, yellow sapphire and pearl
Designed as a gargoyle with an open mouth, set with a cushion-shaped yellow sapphire, suspending a natural pearl drop.
Condition
Natural pearl measuring approximately 8.2 x 6.9 x 5.0, misshapen, light rosé, green and orange overtones. Yellow sapphire measuring approximately 14.8 x 11.8 x 7.8mm, calculated to weigh approximately 12.80 carats, light slightly orangish yellow, typical inclusions visible under magnification, small chip to pavilion. Scratches and discolouration to mount consistent with age and wear. Screw thread fitting where brooch fitting was detachable, now soldered to piece. In good condition.
