Catalogue Note
Artist's inscription:
Two interlocking flowers (sharing one stem) are always special.
side by side the flowers are both auspicious and fine.
Who knows what glorious blossoms are held within acacia grasses?
The fragrant plants are a good omen for the birth of a boy,
whose clothing, like Laolaizi's, will be ornamented with floral brocade.
Just as plants grow lush and healthy in response to tender care,
your offspring will certainly bring you boundless rewards.
Lu Zhi composed this fu poem and painted the day-lily.
