Description

  • canton enamel
of rectangular form, delicately painted to each face with a shaped cartouche enclosing flowering and fruiting sprays, reserved on a green diaper ground, the stepped cover and tray with matching decoration

Condition

There is an 8cm by 3.7cm area of restoration to one corner of the exterior base of the stand and the corresponding area to the interior has two areas of restoration (2cm by 1cm and 2cm by 1.5cm). There are also a number of stress cracks to the interior and exterior of the stand and areas of wear to the exterior. The exterior cover has an area of restoration (2.7cm by 3.3cm). There are also a number of scratches to the side panels of the box and one end has two stress cracks to the enamel (2cm by 5mm).
