Description

  • parcel-gilt silver
of cylindrical form, the exterior decorated with figures and animals in an idyllic landscape, the cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a gilt circular knop in the form of a rosette, the interior fitted with a tray, the base incised with a two-line inscription reading Gongjin erqian sanfen. Gongyin shibaliang wuqian (Made from two maces and three candareens of gold and eighteen taels and five maces of silver) on either side of an impressed ‘II Z’ silver mark

Condition

The box and cover is in good condition with the exception of a minor dent to both the lower and upper edge of the box, and several similar minor dents and depressions to the cover.
