each with deep rounded sides supported on a straight foot, covered overall with a lustrous brown glaze displaying an iridescent sheen and satin texture, the interior and the base glazed white, inscribed with a six-character Daoguang seal mark to the base

Provenance

Marchant, London.

Condition

The pair of bowls are in very good condition with the exception of a pinhole glaze chip and associated 1cm., wide three-pointed star glaze crack to the underside of one, and very minor and light glaze scratches to both. It should be noted that the glaze is of a slightly richer and deepr coffee tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
