Description

finely potted in conical form with flaring sides supported on a tapering foot, covered overall with a lustrous persimmon-red glaze thinning at the rim to a dark brown tone and banded with a cream coloured rim, the glaze stopping just short of the knife-pared foot to reveal the fine buff body, Japanese wood box

Condition

The bowl is in good condition with the exception of a filled 3mm., firing crack at the rim. It should be noted that the glaze is of a slightly richer brown tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.r
