carved as two conjoined mandarin ducks facing opposite directions, each grasping an openwork tangle of lotus stalks and reeds in its beak, the feathers on their wings finely detailed, a smaller duck with a fish in its beak at one end, the stone of an even white tone with minor areas of russet
