the base of the slender tapered blade cast in relief with a triangular mask with flared horns flanking a crest in the form of an inverted cicada motif, the haft with taotie mask in intaglio intended for inlay, encrusted with green patina with flaked areas showing the underlying brown cuprite

One of the horns on both sides has been broken off and restored. One horn is missing on one side.
