Acquired by the father of the present owner in London circa 1965-70
Condition
The canvas has been relined. There are some scattered tiny spots of retouching visible under UV light in the background. There are a couple of minor spots of what appears to be discoloured varnish, notably between the hind paws of the dog (just visible in the catalogue illustration). Overall the work is in good condition and is ready to hang.
Held in a decorative gold-painted wood and plaster frame.
The colours in the catalogue illustration are overall accurate.
