Condition
Stiff lining. The surface of the work is in generally good condition apart from losses to the canvas at the extreme edges of the work. There is apparent pressed craquelure and a thick, uneven varnish throughout. Under UV light: inpainting in the left hand quadrants of the picture and in the sky. Old, thick varnish beneath the horse possibly disguising earlier problems. Ready to hang.
