Condition
Overall the work is in very good condition. Instructions for installation of this work have been provided by the artist: Please note that the sculpture should be installed at a height of 43 1/4 in. (110 cm.). The tray should be filled with salt and evened out with a straight edge to have a smooth even surface. Once the surface is level, lightly blow on salt to remove any lines, creating a uniform surface.
The leather belt around the steel frame shows some natural wear, and the steel components show some natural oxidation. The rim of the steel frame shows some reaction to the salt with which the work is meant to be filled; this reaction is inherent to the artist's working method and choice of materials.
