Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is brighter and more saturated in the original, and the illustration fails to convey the fluorescent tones of the orange paint. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Close inspection reveals a spot of minute wear to the top left corner. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.

Catalogue Note

“Albert Oehlen’s work, with their overflowing visuality, their unflinching zapping between colors and forms, their constant changes of tempo, their gestures and experimental arrangement, once again make the painting the theme ...there are disproportionate factors and constantly changing concepts of collision and merging that go beyond questions of orientation and hierarchy.”

Ralf Beil quoted in: Exhibition Catalogue, Lausanne,  Musée des Beaux-Arts, Albert Oehlen: Paintings 1980-2004, 2004, p. 32.
