Condition
Colours:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is warmer and richer in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to fully convey the thickly textured surface apparent in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There are a few spots towards the centre left below the figure's head, and in a few places elsewhere, where the surface of the paint touches the glass, leaving some associated residue. Upon very close inspection, there is a short, hairline crack to the thicker area of cream impasto paint at the centre right in the top left quadrant. A few loose media elements have accumulated at the bottom of the frame. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
