Condition

The colours are accurate in the catalogue illustration. Right panel : The work is executed on its original canavs, not relined. Under UV light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Except a few tiny cracks located on the rim of the upper edge and a minor (less than 0,3 cm) paintloss located 21,5 cm from the right edge and 24 cm from the upper edge only visible under very close inspection. This work is in excellent condition. Left panel : the work is executed on its original canvas, not relined. Under UV light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Except a few hairline cracks located in the impastos. This work is in excellent condition.

"Je suis très influencée par ce que je vois dehors, la lumière, les champs... Dans tous mes tableaux, il y a les arbres, l'eau, les herbes, les fleurs, les tournesols, etc., mais pas directement: l'eau, par exemple, c'est la Seine, c'est le lac Michigan aussi... c'est plutôt le sentiment que j'ai pour ces choses. Quand je commence parfois je veux faire une couleur ou une forme... ou plutôt quelque chose comme le sentiment d'un tournesol qui meurt par exemple. Il faut sentir quelque chose, on ne peut pas expliquer: cela se voit ou ne se voit pas. C'est cela mon "sentiment" du paysage: en anglais c'est "feeling", en français, sentiment a à voir avec sentimental. Pour moi c'est plutôt ressentir, éprouver..."
