Description

mounted on paper, written in gilt and ink on a woven silk brocade, the edict, an imperial promotion conferred upon an official, the text arranged in standard form reading from right to left in kaishu (regular script) and repeated in Manchu script reading from left to right, with the imperial seal reading Zhigao zhi bao (‘Seal of Edict’) and dated to the 26th year of the Qianlong Reign, corresponding to 1761

Condition

There are typical foxing and stains to the edict and some tears to the edges.
