Condition
The canvas has been strip-lined along the tacking edges. Overall this work is in good condition and is ready to hang. There are some minor strokes of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably a c. 2 by 7cm area in the yellow-brown pigments above the signature, a small 2cm-high restoration in an inverted 'T' shape (corresponding to a c. 3 by 3cm patch on the reverse; slightly discoloured and just visible in the catalogue illustration) in the foliage near its extreme left edge, and in the centre and right of the extreme lower edge, addressing frame rubbing. There is a diagonal scratch in the upper left quadrant in the sky (visible in the catalogue illustration).
Held in a simple pink-brown-painted frame.
The colours are subtler, and less contrasted, than in the catalogue illustration.
