Condition

STRUCTURE Original canvas, undulating slightly. There are some small surface abrasions along the lower right edge. There is a discoloured varnish otherwise the work appears in good overall condition with strong passages of impasto. ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT UV light reveals an opaque varnish; there appear to be no signs of retouching. FRAME Held under glass in a gilt plaster frame; unexamined out of frame.
