Condition
STRUCTURE
The picture is relined and in good overall condition. There are three areas of craquelure; one to the right of the figure, another close to lower right corner and another to the trees upper right.
UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
There are areas of fine flecked retouching to the abovementioned craquelure and other small areas of retouching to the foliage. There is also an area of pentiment to the sunrise where it appears that the artist had painted the orb of the sun and later decided to replace it with the glow of sunlight.
FRAME
Contained in a simple gilt frame.
